Vintage Encore Semi-Hollow w/Tremolo, red. No fret wear. Look at those matching red switch tips! This guitar spent decades in a case, in a closet. Other than a little chip on the headstock corner, it looks like it belongs on the “New Guitars” wall at Guitar Center back in 1968!
Top toggle switch allowed switching of two different capacitors to reduce treble. But big single coils have lots of treble and hum a bit when you’re not playing. So I changed that switch to a kill switch to silence the guitar between songs.
This guitar has been setup, new potentiometers (controls) and wiring. No fret wear. All frets are level. Plays and sounds great!
Per info I found on Reverb: made in Japan in the early to mid 70’s at the famous Matsumoku factory. It is an Encore II Barney Kessel Hollowbody Copy. It is the same (Actually identical other than the Logo name on the headstock and Tailpiece letter) as the V1400 Ventura.
