Guitar Player magazine, the world’s oldest continuously published magazine devoted to guitarists, guitar gear, and instruction, will cease print publication after 57 years, its Editor-in-Chief, Chris Scapelliti, announced today.

The final issue of the magazine will hit shelves next week on October 15, and will include an interview with Jimmy Page, where he discusses the equipment he used throughout Led Zeppelin’s music and his recent collaboration with Gibson.

Originally established by Bud Eastman, Guitar Player was one of the first publications to capture the energy and creativity sparked by the electric guitar boom following the Beatles’ rise, bringing this excitement to readers in print for the first time.
